Weaving Instructional Precision and Technology Together With Magpie Literacy
Information
At Magpie Literacy, we have four key jobs to do.
- Assess the reader
- Assess the reading context
- Teach students
- Monitor efficacy and bias
We start with best-in-class research and build tools for students. As technology evolves, we bring safe, effective elements into these jobs. For example, ROAR’s items were initially built through Stanford’s team, and they have more recently identified a pathway to leverage AI to generate items with similar levels of validity and reliability. We also see voice recognition and the mapping of skills to texts as next frontiers for AI to play a role in our tool. In this session, we will highlight the novel and effective ways in which we bring together instructional precision and the best of technology.
